Mark's Swedish Stag Adventure
So after I had packed my bag and put behind me the fact that I am the best friend of the future bride & not the groom and to not worry what all the other boys thought of it, I headed off to the airport with Bryan & Sean.
Although I grew up with the Best Man and know the groom very well, I suddenly realised that I had only met the other lads a handful of times. As was so eloquentely put, I am the type of person who could talk shite to shite so I knew this would not be an issue and it wasnt. At least my buddies Bryan, Sean & Adam were also invited although they knew none of the other lads.
It was a brilliant how quickly we all seemed to gel together over the weekend. We are all roughly the same age, well except for baby face Sean.
We also all went to the same school. In fact the Best Man was once upon a time my best friend but then over time we split apart mostly because I was in primary school while he was in secondary. We joked that the groom must really hate me seeing as he took my first best friend and is now marrying one of my other best mates...either that or he really has some unhealthy stalking obsession with me.
Now, as this was a stags party, and as I say the future bride is one of my best mates and might see this blog one day, I can not go into specifics of the weekend but lets just say, we did much of the usual stags stuff and the best expensive drunken four days I have had in a long time.
As I say, the weekend was a brilliant holiday. I had never before had a proper lads holiday away and this certainly was. As stag parties go it may have been a little tame but to be fair we are not those lads. We enjoyed the weekend the way each of us would. At the end of the day, it was less of a stag weekend and more just a group of friends having a great holiday.
