Ulpan take 2

After my second day of Ulpan I am still the slowest person in the class but I think that being in such a challenging class will force me to work harder to keep up with everyone. It is still very strange to be in the minority of the class as an American. There are only two other people in the class from the US... but everyone is extremely friendly so I have been enjoying getting to know them. I met a girl named Alexandra from Russia today who is 19 years old and already a fully practicing lawyer. She goes to court and argues cases as any other attorney would do in the states. She said that she entered University at a much younger age than in the States and therefore is able to practice law even sooner... I still think it is crazy that at 19 she is winning court cases.
After the five hours of Hebrew today we went for a Hike through a park in one of the surrounding suburbs surrounding Haifa. It was quite the trek to get down from the Mountain that the University is on and the sun is extremely hot here (even with constant sunscreen I am still getting a bit burned...) Well I am still extremely jet lagged and have lots of homework to do before I can get to bed, so It's a quick entry today... hope all is well at home.
