The beach of Zoagli

The square next to the beach. Beautiful.

While we were based in Liguria, the beach we visited two times was located in the comune of Zoagli. Zoagli belongs to the Province of Genoa. It was about a 15 minutes driving from our campsite in Rapallo. The Italian Riviera is known for its big yachts and exclusive private beaches. It was very hard to find a suited beach for ‘normal’ people like us, haha. Two French guys at our campsite told us about a beautiful beach in a town called Zoagli. They loved it so we were pretty curious and planned to go there too.

So we stepped in the car and drove to Zoagli, following the TomTom which would lead us to the beach. It led us to a complete wrong place, in the mountains above Zoagli. I’m still wondering how I got down that mountain again without damaging my car. We drove back to the campsite and told Frank, the French guy, that I couldn’t find it at all and that we got all the way up in the mountains. He was very surprised and didn’t understand, he said it was very easy and we had to follow one single way. We tried it again. This time we succeeded. We reached the beach and we can say one thing: it was really, really beautiful.

A small beach (no sand, but rocks) with free, public entrance. Enough space to park your car. The sea was very nice too. There was a square next to the beach, as you can see on one of my pictures. It containes a lot of restaurants and bars where you can lunch (pizza!) really cheap. We ate a pizza there one day.
