Time to head home.

Sadly we say good bye to Skatafell.

We take the A1 north passing by the glacier lagoon we take a last look and meet a young polish backpacker couple who are heading for Egilstaddir.

Feeling generous we make some space and offer them a lift.

We settle in the 450km north journey enjoying retelling the stories we have experienced  and the people we met.

The polish couple are nice .... friendly ... he speak little english but its clear they are enjoying the trip and who wouldnt ...  leather seats ... comfortable aircon and and a smooth ride versus a bumpy bus :)

But Iceland has one last final sting ... never satisfied in not providing the dusty traveller with one last little problem......

Yep that damm tourist centre at Egilstaddir!!!!

We need a room for the night...... the most unhelpful tourist centre suddenly turns even more unhelpful..... the two girls running it today are around 17 and have no idea ....

I end up on some tourist internet system talking to the helpful women in Husavik looking for accomodation.

After 45 mins we find a room ... just behind the tourist centre ... the owner will come and get you she says.  great :)

The house owner is wonderful... we find the place .. park .... and dump our things.

I get to use the internet in the house and catch up!

Ling has a long hot bath ... I follow .... that hot water is just what the doctor ordered!

A clean shirt and we head for dinner ..... a delicious steak in the local bistro.

We review what an adventure we have had......

And vow it wont be the last ..... we travel well together ..... and seem to find all sorts of high adventure

Who needs boring holidays when you can have travels like this!
