This years expedition took me north.. to the islands of the Faroes via Denmark, then onto the land of fire and ice.... Iceland. A 3 week tour covering 6000km across some spectacular scenery and sometimes exciting travel. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did driving it!

Back on dry land .... and the road south

After a short stop in the Faroes we cross the North Sea to Hanstholm

Disembarking we are met with sheets of rain and dark skies.

We head south .... 850km to drive but the road is ok once we get past the first 80km ... a terrible 2 lane road that winds its way down to the main motorway south.

This is the worst bit ... after this its plain driving .....

we head south making good time ... its late on Saturday evening ...

We see storms to the south near Hamburg ... drive through a couple of downpours but the motorways are good and soon we are on the german autobahn.

Ling is sleepy again ..... she sleeps I listen to the Ipod and enjoy the drive.

The D3 is wonderful to drive ... full auto ..     4.4 litre V8 makes driving on the autobahns easy

I settle in to the drive

We are heading for my friends place in Osnabruck .... it will split the journey and make it alittle easier
