Golden Gate Bridge

We got up early in our last day!! And what for a day. In the great city of San Francisco. It is certainly one of the greatest places I have ever been, not only for it's beauty but also because of it's liberal climate. Whites, blacks but also an huge Chineze section, all kind of religions, but also, what a views! We consider the people who live there very lucky. Entirely different than my city Den Bosch, wich look like a village compared with this metropool.

We did everything we could to see everything of SF! First we visited a protestant church, with an amazing architecture. Than the City Hall, wich off course is a must.  It is an old Capitool-like building opened in 1915. It replaced the old City Hall which was destroyed in the earth quake in 1906 (almost anything was destroyed in this earth quake)! After that we visited the beautifull Victorian houses, which by the way may not be visited at night because it was a bit dangerous at night.

Than the bus took us up in the hills, for an spectaculair overview of the city. We could not get enough and it was time for the SF Botanic garden! En what is also a must, early in the afternoon, off course .... visiting the worldfamous Golden Gate Bridge. This worldwonder of architecture was build in 1942. After that we went to Fisherman's Wharfe for a boat trip, were we visited the Harbour, Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz.

After a quick meal in Fisherman's Wharfe we walked to Lombard Street, for also a worldfamous piece of the city, the curly road on the Russian Hill. Than we made a big walk for one hour straight through the Chineze section into the middle of the city in the square. The girls of the group had still the legs for one hour shopping. Great for us, we could take some coffee on the square!! After some drinks and a meal it was time to finally give this great the a good end in a San Francisco pub!

The next day.... time to go back to Holland. What a memory leaves the USA by. The country and it's people, the beauty of the country, I know one thing for sure, America surprised my and I certainly want to go back. On the east coast perhaps, New York?, Florida?, well who knows............ THE END

SF was ook wel de meest geweldige stad van de tour. Supermooi, en dan de liberale sfeer! Een stad die je een keer moet beleven....
