We were thrilled, Las Vegas, the city were everybody heard off. The city of gambling, incredible hotels, the strip, Fremont Street, and we saw it all. In the late afternoon we arrived and saw from the bus the Stratosphere and th Strip. Our hotel was just outside the centre, in Winchester. Immediately it was time to explore this fantastic city. First to the strip. The hotels were unbelievable, also at night. Unfortunately we could not pay these rooms, alltough it is said that the rooms are not that expensive. The biggest money is earned by the gambling. In the strip we visited the Venezian, the Mirage, Caesars Palace (really impressive), MGM Grand and Luxor (als incredible). It became really dark, and we took a ride to Fremont street. We saw from the bus all the wedding chapels were Las Vegas is famous for as The chapel of the flowers (were a good friend of mine is married).
Also Britney Spears was married in one of those chapels, hmmmm. Then Fremont Street, great with all those lights, every hour a light show. It is crowded and the temperature is really fine, about 25 degrees and a fine warm wind. We spend an hour there, but then it was time to return to the strip. A nice thing at night to see is the fountain show at the Bellagio. After a hot night it was time to end to evening with a few cold beers in our hotel in Winchester.
The next day it was a day of choice. Or visiting Death Valley. Or enjoy the day in Las Vegas. Not easy, but we decided to explore the city more. To be honest, it would be the best to say 2 days in Vegas! We could have seen Death Valley than on the second day, but unfortunately we had one day.
Half of our group decided to go to Death Valley and had also a great time. We first went to the Stratosphere. tip number one: take a bus card for the whole day. It costs nothing, only 5 dollars, and you have a ticket for the day. Because it is 45 degrees you can't walk to the Stratosphere or the Strip. The view from the Stratosphere was great. You must buy a ticket for that, but it was worth the money. And than..... we really did it.... the XSCREAM. And screaming we did. It is also called the jump of death. From 500 metres above in jumping down and stopped. It really is for heroes. There are also 2 other attractions: The Big Shot and Insanity.
After the visit in the Strathosphere we took the bus to the Strip. We went to hotel New York to do the Roller Coaster. After a meal it was time to visit all the other hotels again. Especially the Venezian is really great inside. The night we spend at Paris, it really looked as old France from the inside, very nice to eat there. The ladies of our group watched a "Chippendales" strip, so we gentemen got into the nightlife of Vegas and had to drink a few beers and lost some of money in the casino's (the prices get up during the night). The taxi to Winchester was cheap, only 10 dollars! It is better than walking. Las vegas is great, 2 days is too little!
