Bryce Canyon

Early in the afternoon we arrived in Bryce Canyon. Absolutely a or perhaps the highlight of our USA-vacation! This park is incredible beautifull. The viewing sites are really overwhelming. First the bus stopped at a viewing point before this beautiful rocks. Hundreds of tourists from all over the world could watch this miracle of nature just before us. The camera's were constantly clicking. I think these pictures say enough.

After spending an hour at the viewing point it was time for a walk. A big walk, you must take some hours to enjoy this park. Some people, which came with own transportation, would spend a few days there, because you can take several walks ion this park.

We walked across the rocks for at least an and half hour. You must walk carefull, because you walking besides a ravine and falling down is dangerous. But if you just follow the little country road, it is no prblem at all. After a while, with again dozens of photo's, we reached a point we could climb down and could walk between these pink and white coloured rocks.  The climb down was style but climbing up again was actually iesier than I expected. Whe spend the entire afternoon there, after 6 hours, which still is too short, it was time to go the village nearby.

Bryce Canyon was explored first by the mormons. It is even named after the mormon Ebeneezer Bryce, and the village where everybody spend the night is run by the mormons. They speak a littlebit with a German accent (I think), and you also must a bit adapt to these friendly religious people. You are expected not to drink not more then 3 beers (it is the maximum you get in the restaurant), but there is a big shop you can buy what you want! Take a sweater for the evening, Bryce is very high and the evenings and nights are cold. But: the rooms have besides airco also heating and a fine warm bath! After this very special day it was time to sleep, tomorrow a dream comes try: Viva Las Vegas!
