Bitter? Bitter, Party of One......
Yeah, 5am rolls around and I had less than one hour of sleep but I managed to drag myself up and head into take a shower. Unfortunately, my parents have left their bedroom door open down the hall and my darling little "sister" Fifi (the infamous pill swallowing, electric cord chewing Pom Chi), starts BARKING! OMG..I run down the hall and close their door since I am sure they were dead asleep! LOL.
I manage to get on the road by 6:30am, stop for more gas, and head on my trek to Burbank. Arrived on time, 20 minutes even to spare! A stop by Starbucks (OMG..Burbank has Strawberry Cream Cheese reduced fat coffee cake...never had that in Vegas or No Cal!) and we are headed back downtown for a deposition and mediation.
OMG, the deposition went over 3 hours and amazingly I did not fall asleep once! LOL. I got a lot of work done and played on TB and Facebook a bit! I had reached out to Doris (Martinikitty13) for lunch ideas since she knows the LA area well. Thank you so much Doris for your suggestions! Unfortunately, we literally ran down the street and found something between the deposition and mediation since we were so short on time. We ate somewhere called the Pacific Grille - very good but pretty pricey! Bad choice on my part though....the shrimp risotto was pretty strong (garlic wise) - yeah, not good thing to eat when you are stuck in a conference room for the rest of the afternoon! LOL.I didn't have the best day which I won't go into here but needless to say, I was very frustrated and on the verge of a nervous breakdown by the time we left the mediation.
I had one of the worst work days ever in my career. At this point, we were running so late, we had to catch a cab for a few blocks to get back to my car so I could get my attorney back to the airport before he missed his flight. BTW, $38 for parking!!! Worse than San Francisco! LOL. And all I kept thinking about during the day as we sat on the 27th floor of a building was, oh please..no more aftershocks! LOL.Barely made it to Burbank on time and now it was time for me to sit for 2 hours on the way back to Torrance...I didn't figure I would be in until around 9pm but made ok time. As I was turning down the street near my Mom's house - I got a glimpse of my cousins hanging out at my Grandma's old house! I went back and OMG....for being such a horrific day, it ended on such a beautiful one as I got to see my family I haven't seen in YEARS! My adopted family lives next door and I got to see my childhood best friend for a minute as well - we haven't seen each other in over 5 years! I met my aunt's daughter from her last marriage that I hadn't seen since she was crawling...she's now 16! CRAZY how time flies! It was amazing to see them and I am looking forward to hanging out again Sunday with my friends and family.
Got in to Mom's around 8:30 - took them for a quite bite, chatted with Jenn about the meet up tomorrow and I was OUT before 11pm! LOL
