Almudena Cathedral. Madrid, Spain.
Woke up at around 6:30, got ready and took off to the airport. I met up with Aaron (who I met here, akline
) at the train station on the way to the airport, we met and started chatting up. Got the airport approximately 2.5hours before the flight. Paris's Charles de Gaulle International Airport is the most oddly (and unintelligently) designed airport ever, it's completely inefficient but we got through an about an hour. Spend our free time on breakfast/internet (they did have a few computer stations at terminal for a reasonable price). The flight got delayed by over an hour, there were no bathrooms at the terminals, so you had to leave the terminal, use the restrooms, then go through security all over again (although we cut in line because we weren't going to wait again).
The Triumphal Arch. Madrid, Spain.
Finally, we were in Madrid
, the flight was fairly short. We got Maps/Info at the airport and walked with all our stuff for approximately 3 hours looking for a place to sleep. We apparently went the day Madrid had some huge festival (I'm fairly sure it was a gay pride festival). Everything was booked, no one had space! We found a nice room on the 8th floor in Gran Via, had a great view, was a bit pricey though, at 64 Euros/night. We settled in our room, rested for a little, then set out for sightseeing. Checked out a few plazas, cathedrals, the arch, retiro park (which was really cool, wish we had something like this in LA, there were just a buncha different groups of kids drinking, playing instruments and hanging out) We were both super tired so we headed back, got to the room around midnight and passed out.
