We got into Paris at about 6pm after a fairly boring flight. We got on the metro and headed straight to Bastille square where our hotel was located. There we would be meeting Derek, an Irish TB, and Anna, a friend of mine who I met on contiki. Was going to be great! The hotel was nothing flash but the beds were comfy. It was great to see Anna again and great to meet Derek who seemed like a pretty funny bugger!
We went out to get some dinner as we were all fairly hungry. We didn't get very far as there was a decent little chinese place right next door to our hotel! Score. That would then become a popular place for us to nip into for spring rolls and other drunken munchies. We then went for booze which was forbidden in our hotel but too bad.
The festivities in Bastille square were about to commence so we wandered down with some grog on bottles to go watch the concert and be part of the countdown to midnight and Lori's birthday. Lori was well on her way to drunken-dom so it was quite entertaining. We went and watched the concert - nothing special.. had ourselves a bit of a boogie in the square, much to bondys embarrasment. We were on the prowl, stealing bondy's signature purr everytime we saw a gorgeous guy or the hot policemen in the tight uniforms and caps.. hmm hmmm! It was a fun night but once the countdown was over it went dead.
So we all headed back to the room after awhile as nothing much was happening in the area and we were all keen to get up at about 6am to go see the parade down the champs elysse.. one of the highlights of Bastille day. Lori was a lil disappointed, wanted to keep drinking even though she was wrecked and insisting that she was 'OLD!!' Went and got some munchies and some food for Lori, try keep her stomach ok.
Got back and she had her head down the toilet. In the 10mins Ben and I went to fetch food she went from 'lets go clubbing' to really ill in the dunny. Poor thing. The kebab I bought her came a bit late and lay uneaten. Nevermind... It was interesting to see with she would pull up ok for the 6am parade!!!
