Day 4: Stockholm

Dammit! Missed breakfast again! Whose idea was it to have a hotel breakfast until 10 am anyway? I mean, on a Sunday morning that is still like in the middle of the night!!
We found a nice place for breakfast close to our hotel in a living room come coffee corner, where mismatching furniture, cutlery and crockery added to a very homely ambience. Time for another helping of köttbullar I'd say, this time cold and in a bun. Some freshly brewed coffee to wash it down with... I must say I've had worse Sunday morning breakfasts.
The idea had been to take some form of boat trip to the outer islands of the Stockholm archipelago, however, as it was past midday already there wasn't a single boat trip left.
All that was left was a canal cruise through the city, but this seemed a bit too close to Amsterdam for us, so instead we opted to take the bus out of the centre to visit the Kaknästornet - a TV tower with an observation deck which offers great views of Stockholm and surroundings.
Afternoon and evening was spent in Södermalm, a nice, slightly bohemian area with tons of nice bars and restaurants. An excellent place to sip coffees all afternoon (later replaced by beers) and just watch the world go by.
Yes, ok, I admit it. We were somewhat knackered today, so we didn't get much proper sightseeing done today. Then again, soaking up the atmosphere is usually the highlight of any city trip, so who cares if we missed an old building or two?
