A weekend break to Stockholm turned into a week-long road-trip around Denmark and Sweden. It's a tale of self discovery, breaking boundaries, courage and friendship. Four countries, two men, and a car named Tweety.....

Day 2: Aalborg - Goteborg - Stockholm

Tweety about to embark on his first sea voyage

Once again we had to get up early. Who ever said holidays were relaxing? It was an hour's driving from Aalborg to Fredrikshavn and we had booked the 10 o'clock boat to Göteborg.
The early morning was absolutely gorgeous! There was a light mist, but it was quickly burnt off by the morning sun. When we left Holland yesterday it had been dreary and rainy, but once we reached Legoland the weather cleared. By now it almost looked like summer again. Well, it was summer of course, but us Dutch haven't had much summer weather in recent years, so it was great to experience some sunny weather, without it being 30 degrees and humid.

The Stenaline ferry from Fredrikshavn to Göteborg was a typical sea cat, which means that the crossing went fairly quick - just under two hours if I recall correctly - which we happily spent drinking coffee and doing some duty free shopping.

My colleagues call it the Spongebob-Mobile, but somehow that name doesn't have the same ring to it :)
