Travelling to Jyväskylä

We could take it easy in the morning, we wanted to take the 11.05 train to Jyväskylä. After breakfast we went to the station got our tickets, ofcourse drank some coffee and waited for the train to arrive. It took about 1.5 hours to Jyväskylä and we had some very nice views from the train. In the train the finnish girl that sat behind us started to ask us a lot of questions: where we came from, did we like Finland, what did we already see.... She had a lot of questions, that was very funny :)

In Jyväskylä we lunched before we took the bus to our hostel, the hostel was about 15 min by bus from the center. The hostel was located next to one of the three skiing areas around Jyväskylä. When we got out of the bus we could see a big ski jumping hill, the Matti Nykänen hill.

Next to the Hostel was a ski-slope which was being used for downhill cycling now :)

In the hostel there was also a burger bar so we didn't have to go back to the center for dinner. The room was good, but we where spoiled by the other hostels: the matrasses where quite tin. But since it was only for one night we would survive ;) After we dropped our bags in our room we decided to go for a walk and see if we could find our way to the ski jumping hills. We took a nice road through the forest, the big ski jumping hills looked neglected, but the smaller ones looked better. Later we heared that there aren't any senior jumpers at the moment in Jyväskylä only juniors.

After dinner in the burgerbar, we looked olympics in the tv room. A finnish man joined us and although he didn't speak a lot of english he tried to speak wit us and was unwanted very funny.

Hostel in Jyvaskyla
It felt a bit strange to enter a burgerbar to get to your room, but it also has advantages. We didn't have to think a long time to decide what we would eat for diner ;) But it is a bit strange to have breakfast in a burgerbar and the breakfast wasn't very good the bread was a bit old. The diner was very good, everything was being made fresh.
The room was ok although the bed was a bit hard, but maybe we where just a bit spoiled from all the very nice beds we had the nights before. The hostel is located very nice next to a skislope. And you can make some nice walks from the hostel in the summer although it can be a bit hilly. The location is good reachable by bus, ans it takes about 15 min from the center.
