Ski jumping hills and skimuseum in Lahti
August 13, 2008
Unfortunately the weather wasn't very nice, cloudy little misty, but at least it wasn't raining. Today we went to the skimuseum first, we arrived there just before 10.00 so we had to wait a minute before it opened. The first half our we where the only ones in the museum, that was nice because now someone in the museum could instuct us on how to do all the simulators. We did skijumping, crosscountry skiing and biathlon shooting, that was very funny to do. We also walked around in the museum. After the museum I went up to te observation terrace wich is in the top of the big ski jumping hill, that was very nice. The view was still nice, but you couldn't see very far. There where a few jumpers training but I only saw them jump once before they ended the training. But we already had a good view of jumping in Kuopio so that was ok :)
After some coffee we walked back to the hostel to collect our bags and took the train to Helsinki. Here we did some shopping on our way to the boat. When we arrived at the boat it started to rain :( Hopefully the weather will be bether tomorrow, because we are now in the hostel on the island Suomenlinna, this is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. We already saw some nice things today in the rain, but we are hoping for at least dry weather tomorrow so that we can take some nice photo's. And then in the afternoon we have to fly back home....
