A Catered Affair
After our trip to San Jose Iturbide, it was a rush to get back to San Miguel to do a catered dinner. Juan and Foo went all out and prepared a great meal for a dinner party in a private home in San Miguel. They did a lot of my favorites -- lumpia (an eggroll from the Philippines), Shrimp Pad Thai (a great noodle dish), Phuket Wonder (a dish with chicken and fresh green beans), and a curry dish with chicken. Juan had hand carved some roses out of tomatoes and decorative leaves from cabbage leaves. They really made a nice addition to the dishes -- making them really lovely I thought. I also loved the way the food looked in traditional Mexican serving dishes. While Foo and Juan were busy preparing the food, I had a great time pouring wine and champagne for the party goers. What a fun night!
The house that the dinner in was amazing. It had a hidden courtyard in the interior -- and had all the vibrant colors you expect in Mexico.
