Epidaurus
January 3, 2006
Early this morning we loaded up the vans and took the kids to the site of Ancient Epidauros to see the theater, the site, and the museum. It was threatening rain but the weather held and we made it through the site and one of the student's presentations before setting out toward the water and taking the coastal road through Corinth. The kids didn't really notice the Corinthian Canal because we passed it so quickly (we didn't pull off at the tourist stop) and we fed them at an Autostop (Goody's) which they absolutely loved, as far as I could tell. Then Steve and I made a plan for how to get into the center of the city. I was the navigator, and right from the beginning I screwed it up. There were at least six separate places where we should have turned but couldn't, but I finally got us back (although I really shouldn't claim too much credit, since I really did screw it up) and we dropped the kids back at the Attalos Hotel. Then Katrina, Steve, and I drove down Syngrou to return the cars, then back to the hotel. That night Katrina was so exhausted that we just went down to the Everest on the corner for sandwiches. Everyone was pretty tired, and the next day was going to be a big one, so we went to bed as soon as we could.
