Clouds on the hills

After leaving Baguio I will be travelling along the Halsema Highway which is one of the highest highways in the Philippines. It is also famous as one of the most scenic routes with turns and twists on the road. Which apparently could make it a journey not to be undertaken by the faint at heart.

But after having travelled on the road to Kabayan I find this road a big road with lots and lots of space to pass the traffic going the other way. And the road is actually surfaced all the way.

The road is going through a very scenic area though. But unfortunately it is pretty cloudy and a bit of rain as we go through the landscape hence much of the time I can’t even sees the nearby mountains because they are all covered by low hanging clouds. But some time there are great sights just next to the road where I can get a glimpse of the fields with rice and vegetables along the road.

And then after a long days travel the bus turn left from the main road and go on a small twisted road up the hill. Finally we get into the town of Sagada. The super famous place in the north of Luzon call a hippy hang out. Well I get of the bus on the main square and just go into the first hotel I can find and yes prices are certainly low up here - 200 peso for a room seems reasonable. It is getting dark now so sightseeing will have to wait until tomorrow.
