Vashon Island from Ferry
I arrived at SEA-TAC (Seattle-Tacoma) Airport at about 1115 local time found my way through the baggage claim and then out to bay 2 to pick up the 560 Bus headed to Fauntelroy Ferry Terminal. The bus ride was good, taking only about 20 mins and I made it to the ferry with moments to spare. The crew was really nice and helped me through quickly and on board just before they departed the mainland. Once on board I took a seat in the spacious cabin and enjoyed some wonderful views of Puget Sound. They ferry also had a small snack bar on board and the chesseburgers were good. (Though a bit overpriced) The ride was smooth and uneventful and within 15-20 mins we docked at Vashon Island. From there I caught the bus up to the Thriftway grocery store where I had instruction to wait for a free pick up from the hostel. I will write more about the hostel as a review later. One thing I did not relaize until I got to the hostel was its remoteness from the rest of Vashon. The nearest bus stop is about 2 miles away and there's very little transport about the island otherwise. I ended up having to walk back into town for food and supplies and it was a rather long walk indeed. It's been overcast with light rain on and off the whole day. I finally made it back not long ago thanks to a wonderful lady who works in the drugstore who helped me get a lift back home. Such friendly people here! Well thats all for tonight as I feel a bit tired...
