harvesting magic

busan bound.  i am a new woman, recharged my soul's battery in a very special place, but more specifically, in a very special time.  the past week has been, without a doubt, one of the best of my life - the perfect setting - the perfect company - the perfect energy.  i was saying to mike last night, on the porch of our bangkok hotel, that usually, when you have an experience like we've had, you get so swept up in it and convince yourself that you will stay in touch and nurture the intense bonds that were formed and do everything in your power to preserve not only the memory, but the sentiment of that time and place - continue to exist as the transcended person you became in that time and place - keep some of the magic as a souvenier and sprinkle it in your home waters - infect your kinfolk and comrades with it.  but sadly, and i know this from experience, when you board your return flight, you are forced to abandon a good chunk of that magic at the gate along with your water bottles and toiletries that exceed 100ml.  if your lucky, you manage to smuggle enough of it back to sustain you for a little while - and if you're really talented at managing magic, you plant it and fertilize it and use what you harvest sparingly and effectively so that the next flight or bus or train or ferry that lands you in one of those sacred spots where time and place and energy allign perfectly with your spirit, the magic is easier to recognize - like an old, familiar friend.
