Evening walk through Molyvos

The Castle on the hill
Saturdayevening we took a taxi to Molyvos. Together with a few other people we got a tour through the city. Molyvos is build against a mountain, so it was a bit more climbing then i expected, but it is a very nice city to walk throught. First we got to a small shopping street, with of course souvenirs, but also a bakery, tailor, and other 'traditional' shops. After that we walked to a church, he most important one (Molyvios has about 5). On August 15th it it really busy there, packed with people. We then left for the castle, which unfortunately is an empty one. That's the reason it is a theatre now (among it's use for other things like concerts). From there on we moved through narrow streests, and nice cozy plazas to the harbor.  From there the tour ended (after three hours of continous walking). Everybody went somewhere to eat. We went to restaurant Sansibar. It is a good restaurant, good menu and service. It is a bit more expensive then a restaurant in Petra, but Molyvos is also a bigger city.
After that we tyook a look in the main street, to the harbor (plenty of restaurants there too) and took a few pictures of the castle covered in lights. At about midnight we took a taxi back to Petra.

Greek with an Eastern twist
Sansibal's a little different from all the traditional restaurants you find. The menu is truly excellent and compared to European standards it's not overly expensive, although compared to Petra it is a little bit more expensive but nothing shocking (like €2 max.). It has a bit of the Eastern/Mediterranean influence next to the traditional Greek food. We ate there when we visited Molyvos. The service is quite good, and there is a very nice atmosphere.

It's a big restaurant with three large outside balconies, and a big room inside. It's very nice to sit outside because you have a really pretty view over the ocean and the shopping street.

If you're in Molyvos i really recommend this restaurant. The chicken fillet and greek salad are delicious! And the menu has some very nice other dishes that are very worth trying.
