First Flight...

Mark and I spent 2 weeks in Thailand in July 2008 - 4 nights/ 3 days in the craziness of Bangkok, and 9 nights at the beach in Hua Hin to relax and get some sun. This is my fifth time in Thailand - 4th in Bangkok, and 2nd in Hua Hin, but I love the country and the people, so it's hard to stay away! A highly recommended vacation spot. ** WORK IN PROGRESS! **

First Flight...

Mum and Dad dumped us at the airport, and we went to check in for our BMIBaby flight to Manchester. We saved about £700 flying from Manchester and not Glasgow, so we used some of our savings for domestic flights. With the price of petrol, the flights were cheaper than driving there and back and parking for 2 weeks!

We were worried as soon as we checked in. Our baggage allowance = 20kg per person. The weight of our bags = 26.5kg! And we hadn't even bought anything yet! We were warned to be careful on the way back but weren't too bothered because we were flying back with FlyBe. We had a greasy fry up breakfast up in the restaurant (if you can call it a restaurant) - a fry up is kind of the start to the holiday, especially as it was still 0830! We bought a few books, and bits and pieces we'd forgotten - adaptor plug - and went through security without a problem.

As always seems to be the way whatever flight we're one from either Glasgow or Edinburgh, we were departing from the furthest away gate! We walked down slowly - buying a CompactFlash card and mini card reader for Dad's camera (refer to Inverlochy blog when it's done to see why I had Dad's camera). I picked up a couple of trashy magazine - holiday essentials - and we were on our way, properly, at last leaving Scotland.
