As we arrived in Nice we were greeted with magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea.  Our hotel was in the middle of town, just 300 years from the sea.  I expected sandy beaches, much like Florida, and thought the beaches would be packed.  It was October, though and rather windy.  Most of the shore in our immediate area was smooth rocks, slightly smaller then golf balls.  We didn't get the opportunity to swim, but several of us waded briefly in the Mediterranean.  It was much too cold to swim anyway.

We wandered the streets late that afternoon and evening taking in the local flavor.  This was more of a pause on our way to Monaco.
An office building, but it would make more sense to be a library.
There were several parks and green areas amongst all the shopping and busy streets.  The shopping was mostly name brands and out of my league, but I'm sure you ladies would not be able to get enough of it!  Wouldn't take long to go over your credit limit here.

The next morning we took a day trip to Monaco.  The road was a winding, elevated road that presented you with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean.  The entire coastline was a carpet of blue water, while the houses and buildings were bright pastels with the red tile roofs.  Everywhere you looked, it was as if looking at a postcard.  Boats seem to be rather popular.  Most of those boats probably cost more than my house.
