Today we both get up around 6am after a pretty bad night, because of the noise during it. First it was raining like hell, and then the train passed by several times and also some helicopters flew over the camping.

We took all our belongings (tents and whatever) and left the camping. Because the weather was pretty good this morning we decided to do a day trip to Yoho Valley and visit the waterfalls (I believe one of them is the highest waterfall in north America) and get some impressing photos from the glaciers on the “icy walk way”.

We started walking at around 10am, the Sun was shining and it was pretty warm this morning. But 600m higher, around 1 hour later, it started again raining like hell. On the icy walk way trip we had to cross multiple rivers, which carried a lot water because of the heavy rain and some of them where pretty difficult to cross.

So after around 3 hours walking, we both were soaked with water, including the feet and the shoes. It was pretty cold, too. Around 8 degree Celsius.

That were the conditions we walked on for the next 2.5 hours. After a 5.5hr trip we arrived at our car and we wanted nothing else than a hot shower, something to eat and a warm and cosy bed to sleep. We found a nice hotel in Golden Airport. The name of the hotel is Golden Rim Motor Inn. A room for two costs only 115 CAD plus taxes (which is really cheap for the Rockies !!) and it was the first place in Canada with an acceptable WLAN access for the tourist.

We were both totally exhausted because of the wet and cold conditions during our day trip. So we will go to bed very early this day and hopefully sleep very well this time.

For all those who plan to visit the Rocky Mountains, I recommend to do that in June or July, because it can be very unfriendly weather conditions in August.
