We booked a weekend get-away in a chateau near Saint-Omer, from where we explored the coast.

On the beach in Le Touquet

On the Beach

Le Touquet was an improvement, although we made the mistake of parking near the Hippodrome and walking into town, because 'someone' said it wasn't that far. After 45 minutes there still wasn't a beach in sight and I was just about to file for divorce, when I was hit by a frisbee and lo and behold, there be sea, sand and LOTS of screaming kids.

This must be what Hell is like.

Things improved after I had returned the frisbee to the little bastards and we sat on the beach for a while. It was actually kind of nice there. I'm not a beach person, as you can probably tell, but since my feet hurt that bad, I took off my shoes and socks and joined my girlfriend, who was already up to her ankles in the water.

Afterwards, we walked into town and found a place with amazing pancakes, before walking back to the Hippodrome and checking out the races.
