We booked a weekend get-away in a chateau near Saint-Omer, from where we explored the coast.

Exploring Saint-Omer

Ancien Enclos de l'Abbaye Saint Bertin

Our final day in France. After breakfast and check-out, we drove to Saint-Omer which was a 'beautiful flower town' according to... well themselves actually.

Well, I hate to burst the bubble, but it was an absolute dump! The Place Foch was nice and the Cathedral wasn't too bad, but the rest of the town was dirty and grey. Houses boarded up, houses falling down, dog shit everywhere. Actually, the most beautiful sight in the entire city were the ruins of the old abbey, so go figure!

The Jardin Public was sorta nice though, but some parts were a real overkill. I mean, how many colours of flowers can you combine in 1 flower bed? I guess their gardener is colour blind.

We didn't stick around for very long and programmed the GPS to take us home.
