View over the Dead Sea
We finally left Mount Nebo and departed for the Mövenpick, our chosen resort on the Dead Sea.

Whilst I can't speak about the accommodations from the Israeli side, the Jordanian resorts on the Dead Sea are exquisite.  However, there isn't much else between Amman and the Dead Sea, so if you're planning on staying there, you're a bit stuck.  Even taxi cabs must be hired from out of town and drive out there to pick you up!  The purpose of staying there is, however, to experience resort life, and the hotels there certainly allow you to do just that.

We chose the Mövenpick because, even though it was the most expensive of all the resorts, we felt it would provide us with the most sumptuous experience.
=)  Our original plan was to stay the night and split the rather high cost of a hotel room between the five of us, but Jordanian hospitality laws expressly forbid unmarried men and women to stay in the same room, so that idea was quickly thrown out the window.  Instead, we purchased a day pass (for something like 40 JD's each), which gave us unlimited access to the hotels pools, the beach, and a free meal in one of the restaurants.

We spent the first few hours basking by the pools and enjoying the cabana-style bar overlooking the beach.  Eventually, we decided to wander down to the Sea itself, which was a fantastic experience!  See my review for more detailed information.

This was one of my favorite travel experiences ever, and I have to say that the few hours I spent on the Dead Sea makes me want to return as soon as possible.  I've already decided that my honeymoon will take place here, and that I will stay at the Mövenpick at that time. =)
