Welcome to North Myrtle Beach

I got up early, as usual, and took this time to explore the hotel and take some pictures for this blog and the hotel review. After returning to our room, getting a shower and waking up Lena and the kids, we all headed down for breakfast. The breakfast was very good and the service was great! (see hotel review) Check out wasn’t until noon, and we were not supposed to be at the beach house until 3:00pm, so we had a couple hours to kill. After we checked out of our room, we decided to go to the mall near by and see what stores they had and do some shopping.
About an hour later, my mom called us on the cell phone and told us they were able to get in to the beach house early and they were there, so we could start heading that way.
Our house for the next seven days.
That's our rental car next to the palm tree.
We had about an hour drive from Florence to North Myrtle Beach, but the time went by quickly listening to all the XM Satellite radio stations we found. The next person to rent the car we had will find the radio buttons pre set to 80’s metal, a few rock stations, and one hard core death metal station!
With the fine navigational skills of Lena, and Courtnie’s amazing ability to see signs the rest of us couldn’t, we arrived at the house we would call home for the next seven days. The house is only a two minute walk to the ocean, and though not as luxurious as some of the beach houses we have stayed at in the past, it was very nice with plenty of room for all 17 of us. Yup, that’s right, I said seventeen!
Let me list everyone off for you. There was me, my wife Lena (bwitch16), my daughter Courtnie (Roguefairy13), and my son Mike.
The view of the ocean from our bedroom balcony.
Then of course there’s my mom Carol and step-dad Wes. Next is my step brother Dan from Minneapolis who came without his wife because she used up all her vacation going to Spain with her mom. Can’t blame her for that J Then there was my other step brother Chris and his wife Angie with their 4 year old son Logan and 11month old daughter Camryn. Finally, there was my sister Sharon, her husband Bill, my niece Ashley (Sharon’s daughter from her first marriage) my niece Kayla (Bill’s daughter from his first marriage) and my two nephews Cody and Josh who are Sharon & Bills together. With the exception of Dan, who flew from Minneapolis, and us who took the train, every one drove from Maryland down to Myrtle Beach.
The pool.
As I said on the pervious pages of this blog, we thought it would be easier not to drive, but I’m rethinking that now!
The house was three levels and sat up off the ground so you could park about four cars underneath the house, and four or five more in the driveway. At the back of the house was a small in ground pool and Jacuzzi. The first floor is where the large kitchen, dinning room, living room and the pool table were. There was also a bath room with shower and tub just off the room with the pool table, and the laundry room with a washer and dryer.
The second and third floors were identical with four bedrooms, one being a master bedroom with a large private bathroom with shower and a separate Jacuzzi tub, and two other full bathrooms with tub and shower on each floor. Each room had a sliding glass door to step out onto the full length balconies with a view of the ocean. So, that's eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms! Here is the link to the house we stayed in, or you can search around and see all the other properties this company has to offer.

Our first day here was spent getting settled in, and going to the grocery store to stock up on food, beer and other household supplies. We did take a walk to the beach later in the evening before sunset, and then back to the house for some pizza and a few drinks for the grown ups before calling it a night. Tomorrow would be our first full day and the beach was calling!
