Nothing but beach!
Today is our first full day here! I woke up around 8:00am and went down stairs where I found a couple other people up and coffee already made. Now I'm not much of a coffee drinker, mostly because I get pretty hyper from it, but I decided to have a cup this moring. Lena asked if I was really having coffee, and when I said yes, she just rolled her eys and said with a laugh "Oh god, watch out for Mark, he's having coffee!"
By 8:30 am, most everyone else in the house was up and pulling stuff out for breakfast. After breakfast, most of us decided to go to the beach for the day, so that's pretty much all we did on our first day...beach it!! The waves were not very big, so using the boogy board was ok, but you really had to have your timing right and wait for a good one.
I did attempt to snorkel, but you had to go pretty far out to get to water deep enough where the waves didn't churn up the bottom, so I didn't snorkle at all the rest of the time here.Around 1:30 pm, we were all getting hungry, so we walked back to the house, fixed some sandwiches and had lunch. After lunch, Lena, Courtnie and I walked to the little beach shop down the street to find a birthday gift for Logan, who turned 4 today, some souvenirs, and a shot glass for a friend of mine who asked me to pick one up for him. Next door to the souvenir shop was a liquor store, so we picked up some tequila to break in the new shot glass.
After returning to the house, we relaxed in the pool a bit before getting a shower and getting ready for dinner. Dan, Chris and Wes were fixing chicken on the grill, Sharon and my mom were fixing baked potatoes and broccoli while Lena fixed greek salad.
After getting our fill, singing happy birthday to Logan and having cake and icecream, we just relaxed in front of the TV for a while. Some time in the evening, a card game was started which lasted into the morning hours. We also started on that bottle of tequila :)
