Finally we are off to the country side! Our first adventure was finding the correct bus to our destination! We arrived at the bus terminal and there was a bit of confusion about which bus to take! There were many lined up and not the best of signage for indication! After speaking to the locals and figuring out which one heads out to La Fortuna, we could finally realx a bit and wait for our departure!

We endured the 4hr bus ride from San Jose to La Fortuna and we had to stand up part of the way due to lack of seats! The bus was crowded and slow but the views were excellent! The kids got so excited when they saw a cow and began to scream "vaca" everytime we saw one along the way! Beware - when you get off the bus in the town, locals bombard you with advertisment for their hotels, rooms, hostels!  Just know what you are looking for and bargain in price! A nice lady approached us and offered 5 bucks a night at her guesthouse.  It was on the outskirts of town past the bullring, about a 5 minute walk. The house was next door to her home and much nicer and bigger! She provided coffee and fresh fruit every morning. We had our own private shower and 2 beds! It was very luxurious for us backpackers!

Our first day was geared towards learning the town and figuring out our adventures!
