my sister anna and i drove this past summer from california to minnesota. it is a great way to see the western states. the mountains in arizona, new mexico, and colorado are gorgeous. driving from california to arizona was aboslute torture. it was so bloody hot! and we were trying to not always have the air conditioning on so our car wouldn't over heat. we also went sailing in san diego before departure and that was so funny. neither of us had any clue what we were doing. it's more relaxing to just let someone else handle the boat. the worst part of the trip was the last eight hours or so. nebraska is an absolute bore to drive through. all in all it was a hilarious and very memorable trip that i'm glad i did. we drove along historic route 66 which i still don't know why it is historic. we did, however, get out kicks on it.
