I went off to MBK in the morning to buy some stuff that I need, specially a thai sim card that i can use for my phone. I got the true move sim. not really advisable for filipinos to use since i wasn't able to receive messages from home (so i changed to the one i use before the "HELLO" sim card, the red one).
I was fully unaware about the protests going on. I wanted to take shots of the Victory monument but when i opened the papers the protesters were at the victory monument the night before i arrived. And from what i read and seeing on TV at the hostel, the situation was getting worse. The hostel staff advised me not to go out anymore since the red shirts have reached Siam Square. Did that stop me? No.
So i finally get to meet TBs for the first time. When I got there it was just Anita, Layla, Mark and Michael on the table Richard had reserved for us. A few minutes later more TBs arrived and we treated ourselves to some delicious seafood! Found out also that Layla and I are staying at the same hostel. So after dinner and a few pictures, the guys were off to chitlom while layla and I headed back to Silom to rest. On the walk towards the hostel, people have already started to throw and shoot water at each other. Suddenly I just had to get my gear at the hotel and start taking shots (good move on my part) since the next few nights of songkran, I had opted to stay indoors.
and despite the protests going on in the streets of bangkok, pattaya and some other places in thailand, there's no stopping Songkran!
