Back in Bangkok!
April 11, 2009
Woke up really really early (more like I didn't sleep at all) to catch the first bus to Clark Airport which means to say i got there too early... even before the check in counter for my flight opens. By 12 Lunch time we were boarding. A few minutes after, we were in the air. in 3 hours, we've landed in Suvarnabhumi airport.
Bangkok At last! Again! I just majorly love this city! and it was great to back!
Took the public taxi from the airport and into the city for the first time ever. I always took the airport limo service, and the last time, i took the one provided by the hotel. Anyway, got myself checked in at HQ Hostel in Silom Soi 3, got settled a bit and then headed of to walk to Saladaeng BTS station to meet up with Vaness (from flickr). Quite a surprise he had this lei (is that what you call it in thailand) for me. I've never gotten that upon arrival before. another first!
We wasted no time and had dinner at S&P across the street. S&P is perhaps my favorite restaurant chain ever, and ordered food that i've been craving for in the last 2 years. during this trip I told myself that i'd be taking pictures of the food I eat (for TB review purposes), but I forgot about that when the food came. Hence, the dinner pic you're seeing here was taken when we've eaten all the food.
It's quite funny that Vaness, the local, claim that i know more about his country than he does. And He was quite right. I would mention things about Bangkok, that he wasn't even aware of. He would give me that puzzled look every time. haha!
After dinner we went to the Suan Lum Night Bazaar. It's one shopping place that i haven't been to in the city. Didn't buy anything there but only took pics and had a couple of drinks while window shopping.
We retired quite early as I haven't had any sleep at all the night before. Back at HQ i was in a room with Sam, an Iranian-Canadian. He was on the bottom of the bunk bed that I wanted. I stayed on top. But it was all good since he will be checking out in the morning, so i can transfer to his bed. hehe!
