As usual, before I left I got a lot of advice about the places I was going, most of it by people who not only had never been there, but were repeating what I had told them!
Like in Japan:
Don’t open the taxi door. The driver will have a fit of despair, since they had automatic doors, and the driver loses face if you don’t wait for him to perform this little miracle of modern engineering.
Never took a taxi. . .
