Today is Sunny

We ate a continental breakfast at the motel, packed up, and checked out.

We went on a lantern tour at Cave of the Winds[1] and listened to ghost tales.

We lunch at McDonald’s and then began traveling out of town.  We stopped at the US Olympic Complex[2] in Colorado Springs, toured the grounds, and even saw a couple of future Olympians.

During our journey home, we passed by the Pikes Peak International Raceway (NASCAR) along I-25.  We also passed by the old Raton horse track (Gary pointed at some memorable places to me).

We stopped at the Capulin Volcano National Monument[3] with Sara, but we knew it was going to thunderstorm soon, so we left after about 15 minutes, but we did go part way down into the crater.  We could see for miles and most of the view was filled with sunflowers.

We were right it stormed all the way to Amarillo, then started back up about 10 minutes outside of Amarillo, almost all the way home.

When we arrived in Amarillo, it was dinnertime so we decided the Big Texan Steak Ranch was the place to be.  We ordered the steak for 2 dinner (baked beans, potato salad, tomatoes, fried okra, rolls), and Coca Cola.

We finally arrived home at 3:30am.
