My pre-birthday celebrations!!! Oh and Bastille eve

We basically planned our trip so that we made sure we would be in Paris for Bastille day. And more importantly, MY BIRTHDAY! Which also happens to be on Bastille day. We also wanted to make sure we were in Paris for the night before (today) as there is always big pre-celebrations. We had a flight flying from Madrid to Paris around 2:30 so we didn't leave the hostel until around 11am and basically just hung out all morning packing our bags and doing nothing. It was really weird travelling to Paris...we were still a group of 6 but Lauro and Alex had been replaced by Mark and Jeff.
At the airport we did some duty free shopping and I bought a carton of cigarettes for Ruby for her birthday (how nice, my present to her will eventually kill her haha) and then we just hung around for a while waiting for the flight as it was a bit delayed.
We met up with Anna and Derek at check in and we all got along fabulosly like being best buddies even though we all just met. It was great! The rooms that we had weren't anything special. They were two rooms of 3 beds and then Derek and Jeff had a double room. The room was pretty small with basically the three beds, a chair, and thats it. But oh well they weren't that expensive and it's just what we needed for our 3 days of partying in the city. It ended up being the best thing for us as the owners were pretty relax and we came and went as we pleased which was awesome.
After dumping our stuff in the rooms we met up back downstairs to do some exploring. Well, we didn't get too far and only made it next door which happened to be a chinese restaurant and we were all starving so we got something to eat. By time we were done eating it was time to head down the street to the shop to get some mixers for our booze and to start the pre-drinking which we planned to be in our room. In the Madrid airport we got a big bottle of Absolute Pear and then bought some 7-up to mix it with. Delicious.
We decided to head out to the square around 10:30pm and it was already pretty busy with lots of people and lights and some random music going on in the stage. We were kind of oblibivious to what was going on just drinking, dancing, laughing and generally just having a wicked time.
It all gets a bit hazy for me here...remember now this was my pre-birthday celebrations! I remember going back to the hotel to use the toilet and realising that I had a missed call from Melissa on my mobile. Mark, being the idiot that he is, then said I could use his mobile to call her back. His UK mobile, in FRANCE, calling AUSTRALIA. Expensive. After speaking to her I then decided to call "all of Canada" and called anyone whos number I could remember off the top of my head which included about a half hour chat to my sister, a chat with Lindsay, and left voice messages for Brittany and Natalie.
I honestly don't remember at which point it went from having a really good time to just really drunk and not remembering. Good thing I hade all my mates there to look after me while I was running about in Bastille Square hehe. I remember that I was on the phone with Melissa at 12am and had everyone sing me happy birthday which was awesome. I do not remember apparently slapping some random guy and then having him slap me back. (This is what Hannah tells me) I don't remember getting brought back to the hotel either. I do remember getting sick and I recall the feeling of being trapped...which was probably when I fell under the bed and wouldn't get out and started crying for Ruby, apparently. lol.
I DO remember Mark taking care of me though and sitting with me while I was being ill in the washroom so thanks Mark for that! Haha oh what an AWESOME pre-birthday night and I'm pretty sure the pictures say it all!!!
