Shopping, Dinner, and Strippers!

So Mark was not "right behind me!" Around 6:30am he came into the room very drunk and woke me up...his brilliant plan was to stay up until 7:30 when he had to leave to go catch his coach. He went to bed and his alarm went off at 7:30. Easy right? I thought he was at the station until I got a phone call from Melissa at 9am. When I saw that Mark was still sleeping in his bed I woke him up to tell him that it was 9 and, I'm not even joking, he screamed! Like proper screamed aloud like someone would in a horror movie. Scared the shit out of me and work up Ruby as well! Pretty hilarious though as well...
So he completley missed his bus. There was another one later which I told him he should take and just go back to bed as he did not look well at all. But then there was another one that was a bit earlier so he decided to leave and go catch that one.
Today Ben, Hannah, and Anna got up really early to go to the eifel tower so they could climb to the top without the crowds. Ruby and I decided to take it easy and maybe do a bit of shopping.
From Bastille square we took the metro to Champs Elysse to do some shopping. I bought a new pair of flip flops and a new top as my birthday present to myself. Then we stopped along some stores before getting ice cream and heading back to the hotel to meet up with the rest of the group. Tonight we were going out for a nice dinner which was mine and Ruby's birthday present from Hannah.
We wanted to go somewhere in the Monte Mare area so we all decided to meet at Blanche metro station at 7pm.
Once everyone arrive we just walked around looking for a decent place to eat. I don't know the name of the place we went to but it was a cozy little restaurant. It wasn't very big and our group pretty much took up the whole place. The waiter was really...well I don't know how to describe him, funny? I guess...haha he was a bit random but he provided some laughs and he was pretty nice. The meal was really nice and it was 2 courses for 17 euro so we got a really good goats cheese salad and then I chose steak and potatoes as my main meal.
Since we were in Pigalle we decided to go get some drinks and then see some strippers! The area is a bit seedy and there were tons of sex stores so we stopped in one for a laugh. They had so much gross porn playing on the tv's!!! Yuck! Along the way we found this really cool, laid back rock bar called L'Art Scenik. And just as we were about to go in we saw the CRAZIEST THING!!
Right beside the bar there was a crepe stand, another little shop, and then another crepe stand.
The bar was awesome! It was 6 euro a beer which is pretty expensive but for Paris...and compared to all the other bars that are around our hotel it was pretty cheap! Ben bought me a birthday Corona and Derek bought me 3 shots (which to this day I still don't know what was in them) which I had to do in a row. Which I did cause I am a champ! At the bar there was a band that was doing a whole bunch of covers and he asked if anyone wanted to come up and sing so us being the nice friends that we are, all started chanting "Hannah, Hannah, HANNAH" until she eventually caved in and went up to sing.
After that Dominic, Kyle, and Karen left and then Derek was going to leave as his hostel had a curfew (I know! Lame!!) but then I convinced him to stay and crash at the hotel so he did! I think cause we were buying so many drinks...and probably cause we were pretty much the only people in there, the bar staff brought us over a tray of 10 shots! They were all mixer shooters so they weren't straight booze but it was pretty sweet and they were delicious!
Then Anna went up and she played the guitar and sang a song which she did very well! Poor Jeff though had a bit too much to drink and was getting a bit ill. No worries buddy, we've all been there...see previous entry! Derek, Anna, and Ben took him back to the hotel but Rubz, Hannah, and me were still pretty set on seeing strippers so we decided to stay out.
There were lots on the street to choose from...we went up to one and the lady said it was 20 euro to get in so we said no and started to walk away. So then she said for 10 euro each we could get in and get a free drink so we said OK. Well, first we asked if there was MALE strippers and she said yes. So we went in and we got our drinks which was a glass of straight vodka, no mixer. It was really weird when we were in there cause there was no strippers!
One girl came over to us but she was wearing jeans and a sweater!!! And then she was sitting there texting on her phone and we were very confused and a bit angry! Nothing was happening and eventually Hannah went up and was dancing around (don't worry, we were the only people in there!) and then she went behind the curtain to the area where we came through and was bugging them asking where our strippers were.
So we went back to the bar and was chatting with the band for a bit and then they called a cab for us. The poor cabbie though cause as we went passed the strip club we rolled down the window and started yelling at the lady and she was yelling back at us and giving us the finger...was pretty hilarious but I don't think he knew what was going on haha. The cab was only 12 euro as well so not bad at all! We wanted to get some food but nothing was open so we just went back to the room.
Jeff was pased out but Derek was still awake. We were just hanging out in the room and I heard knock on our door so I went to go answer it.
He was travelling with mates though and eventually Tom and James came in as well! James was a twin and his brother Dan was upstairs sleeping so me and Ruby ran up and woke him up...so HILARIOUS, he was sleeping with one of those money wallets around his neck! And then he continued to wear it while he was in our room. So yeah basically...to sum it up...I randomly invited these four 18 year old Scottish kids in our room and then prompley fell asleep and left Derek and Ruby to deal with them until 5 in the morning.
