A very classy bus to Cedeira!
We caught the first metro into the city. We had to switch lines only once to get to the station where the bus departs. We took up a big chunk of space on the metro with all our bags and at one point this lady who worked there yelled at us in Spanish. It was pretty funny but Alex and Lauro got scared for some reason?? lol. We arrived to the station and headed to the Asla ticket booth to buy our tickets. The tickets were €57 each on the Supra class. At the time we didn't know this would be an amazing bus. We could have taken a later bus that was cheaper but then we wouldn't have arrived into Cederia until later at night. We had a little confusion as to which platform the bus was actually leaving from (there were 60!) but eventually we found it and we got our bags on the bus just about 5 minutes before we were to depart.
Now this bus...holy cow!! The BEST bus EVER!! The seats were MASSIVE and leaned back with tons of leg room. And there were a whole bunch of tv's scattered around so you don't have to look all the way to the front for the tiny little one. There was also a "host" on the bus and she came around and brought us sandwhiches, coke, juice, and snacks. Turns out you could have as much as you wanted to as well cause I kept on seeing other people asking for more and she would bring it. They played 3 movies in Spanish so we couldn't really watch them but there was radio you could listen to and I slept lots and had my MP3 player. The bus was a really enjoyable ride and we all got a memorable Russel Crow DVD in Spanish as a souvenier. How weird is that? We didn't really know what to do with ourselves when the host started handing out DVD's.
..we were like what is going on???The Supra class Asla bus only took us as far as La Corunna. From there we caught another bus to Ferrol. Now the ticket for this one was only 6 euro. OBVIOUSLY not a Supra class and it sucked to be travelling on regular bus again haha. The bus ride in was about 35 minutes and it was a really gorgeous drive. When we arrived into Ferrol Pablo came to meet us and his father Manolo arrived shortly after. Hannah, Ruby, and Alex went with Pablo while Ben, Lauro and I went with Manolo. Now, Manolo is really nice and I appreciate the ride he gave us but I was pretty scared for my life for that 30 minutes into Cedeira. Everytime someone talked to him he would look at that person and not at the road and then had to slam his foot on the break lol.
But we made it, alive. In Cederia we were staying at Pablo's parents house. They have such a beautiful house as well, all hardwood floor and decorate beautifully. I loved it instantly. They even had 2 bedrooms for us...1 for the girls, and 1 for the smelly boys. After we dropped off our bag we headed down to the grocery store as we were all starving. We went a little crazy on the crisps but we did also buy a lot of stuff to make a big pasta. Back at the house Hannah and I were the cooks as everyone else proved to be pretty useless right off the bat lol. And Lauro had to make his noodles and couldn't wait for our delicious pasta and salad! Pablo's mom (Lucia) is so sweet and came in and got mad at us when we were trying to do our dishes from the mess we made.
Honestly, everyone was so nice to us!After dinner we took a walk through the town and went to the beach. We went to a small beach not too far away from Pablo's house. I guess it was the harbour or port as there were alot of boats there. Pablo impressed us all by jumping in right away and Ben following and a run (kicking sand up at me in the process!). He took a nose dive (litteratly) and scraped his nose on something, we don't know what though. But we all ended up in the water (Ruby was forced as Alex threw her in) except for Hannah who sat this one out.
From the beach we walked up some hills and saw the amazing views of the ocean. Pablo also showed us the "secret" beach which is gorgeous. We stopped off at the "hut" which is more like a little cottage.
The hut is amazing! It's basically one big room with a sink, table, and fire place and then the toilet at the back in a different room. Outside there is a little patio area for tables and a garden with the most amazing view of the harbour. There is also 2 very cute, but timid puppies! On our way back down to the house we took a little detour and stopped at a pub for a nice refreshing beer. Then we went back to the house an got dressed to go out! We went to the "Saloon Bar" and played quite a few rounds of pool, which I lost to amazingly. Corona's are only 2 euro and 10 cents. Everything is so cheap, it's awesome! We were out pretty late for not going to bed the night before. Us girls were smart and slept in the house while Alex, Ben, and Lauro went out and slept in the hut.
