Mountain Bike Adventure!
Now the trip got even better. Down hill on the mountain bike through the hills and valleys that I do not even know the name of. I didn’t even have to pedal at times, just zooming down mountains like a kid on a roller coaster for hours. The down hill ended, and I pedaled passed houses in the country. Kids would run out and wave and try and speak some English.
This is a very new road I was on. They were ecstatic to see a tourist. I rode on and on through these towns and past rivers and over bridges. I was exhausted again and it was about
I finished my coffee, took a picture of some funny kids by my bike, and took off.
I had to beat the sun. I rode as the sun went down and dusk turned to night. With no lights, I couldn’t see well. I could hear Vietnamese radio and propaganda blasting out of country speakers. No town, no hotel, just me and the Vietnamese countryside…shhiitt. I took out my trusty Panasonic flashlight to help guide me on the road. Finally, a country hotel. I ask if they have rooms, and guess what……this is
Back on the bike with the flashlight. Finally the town. I ride and ask. No hotel for 6 miles. I am exhausted. The people let me keep my bike in their shop, and have their son moto me to the hotel area.
