when speaking to other travellers around the world, whenever they went to switzerland to visited two places: interlaken and the jungfraujoch. more about interlaken later, but the jungfraujoch was really something i felt i had to visit for a long time and i wasnt really sure why i never had the pleasure to do so before.

anyway, we bought the terribly expensive (not included in our general public transport ticket of course) ticket up the jungfraujoch via kleine scheidegg and boarded the nice train with panoramic windows. the scenery up is beautiful, passing the eiger nordwand on the way and with a view over the whole valley; almost no clouds in sight, our luck continued. from kleine scheidegg onwards it got a bit colder, passing the huge glacier and spending most of the journey in the tunnel.
there were some picture stops on the way and i quite nicely done edutainment video beeing shown.
we passed trains coming down full with sleeping tourists. since we only went up at 2pm luckily our train was quite empty it was easy to jump around to find the best picture taking spot.

we arrived up greeted by long queues of tourists waiting for the train down. we spent about two hours shooting pictures, dodging japanese tourists running around and enjoying the great views on the mountains & the glacier. dodging the spicey smell from the bollywood restaurant we had a nice coupe of icecream in the panoramic restaurant on the top.

not interested in all the 'fun activities' offered we hopped on the train down to check in properly into the hostel and relax a bit before the evening.
