Interlaken, Switzerland sorta haha
September 13, 2008
Ahhh, there there are at last. At least I got a sneak peak. Perhaps I will go up to Como from Milan and try to get another view. So technically I have now SEEN snow, I have yet to touch it though haha.
I wanted to get an early start out to Interlaken to do some things there. Abby, a friend (even though she is a UF Gator) I had met last night was also headed that way so we went together with plans to see some waterfalls on the way down. They were okay but not worth the 11 francs entry fee. On top of that, there was no discounts for students or "old people" as stated on the sign. Abby and I had a good laugh at that.
When we got to Lauterbrunnen we needed to warm up and dry off so we got coffee and tea there.
We stayed for about an hour and then jumped on the train to Interlaken. Initially we had plans to do some cooking at Balmer's (pretending we were staying there). Abby is in culinary school and enjoys cooking like I do.
I decided, though, that I would like to take a train out to Belgium tonight as opposed to early tomorrow. Luckily, there was a train and only 10 francs to reserve. I lost the 25 euro like I mentioned in a previous post but I think it was worth it to save a day of travel tomorrow.
I had a couple of hours before my train left so Abby and I had pizza and a couple beers near the station. We parted ways with plans of a possible reunion in Munich for Oktoberfest (It seems like everyone will be there haha).
So, another night train and reclining chair, but tomorrow I will be in Belgium a bit ahead of schedule.
