First off I went to stand in line to see David. It was worth the wait and the 10 euro. It's and amazing marble sculpture.... probably the most amazing piece of art I have ever or will ever see actually. You cannot imagine the size from the photos. The size of the hands and chest alone are amazing. I was intimidated.
When I left the gallery I ran into some LSU fans!! Talk about a breath of fresh air haha. We got to talking about the tigers and I found that they were Baton Rouge residents with season tickets as well. They probably live no more than 5 minutes from where I live. Small world ay??
Anyway, we were both headed out to the Ponte Vecchio so we traveled together. Great people and Mr. Phil insisted on buying me lunch.
After the Ponte we planned to head back to climb the Dome of the Duomo, but it is not possible on Sundays. We climbed the bell tower instead.
After the climb Mr. Phil gave me his ticket for an open air tour around the city because it was good for 24 hours and they had already used it. It was a great gift. The most amazing part of the tour was at the top of the hill or the Piazzale Michelangelo. This is a view of Florence NOT to be missed.
After the tour I headed home exhausted. I spent the remainder of the afternoon hanging out with the Chilean couple and others at the hostel.
A guy named Brandon even lent me his clippers for a hair cut. Not my best work because they were a bit old and broken, but they got the job done... finally. Better than a 12 euro hair cut though.
