Waiting in line for the tour.
To this point in my trip... If I had to give one piece of advice to my fellow backpackers it would be to do the free walking tours!!!!! SERIOUSLY. I did the Sandemans New Berlin tour my friend Tim suggested today and it was amazing! If you think about it, they have to be better than the ones you pay for because they only work for tips. They have to be funny and know their stuff to make people like you and me enjoy ourselves. Brilliant and cheap. I would have liked to have tipped more than the 5 euro I did but I have to consider my budget. Plus there were 30 people in the group. I know he has to give a cut to his company but if everyone gave 5 euro that's 150 euro per hour for about 3.5 hours (4 if you include the lunch we had). Not bad haha.

Anyway, now that I got that off my chest Ill tell you about my day haha.
The Brandenburg Gate

I woke with the Spanish guys and we all had breakfast. It was 4 euro here but worth it because its all you can eat and better than your average hostel breakfast. There was actually cheese and meat with tomato slices, grapes and boiled eggs. Not great I know but it is when all you get from other hostels is bread and cereal.

I had to heat quick to make it out to the tour at 11h00 but don't work, I got my money's worth haha. When I got there I saw a couple hundred people and thought I was in trouble but as I mentioned they break it down into groups of 30. The tour was hands down the best I have been on since I have been on the trip. Actually, it was the best I have ever taken in my entire life although that isn't saying much haha.

Ill leave the details of the tour out here and try to squeeze them into photo comments for the most part because after all, that is what the pictures are for.

But my guide was great. I know Berlin in only one full day is a bit crazy, but this tour reeeeally made me glad I came and gave it a shot.

Ive come back here to he hostel after going to the train station for info about my train tomorrow. Thank goodness for the bike. So much better than being stuck on a metro. You actually get to SEE the city  while traveling.

Its about 17h30 and I feel like I need a nap if I plan to go out and get up early for a train out of here.

So I woke up and headed out back to the Reichstag building. I had wanted to go in before I came back to the hostel but the line was SO long. I thought there would be a shorter line like the guide book said later in the day but it was as long or longer haha. I waited because I did want to go in before I left. It was okay. Nothing spectacular, but I was glad I went.

I stopped by the little pizza joint that is near the hostel (and open until 3 or 4 am haha) for a quick 3 euro pizza then headed back here. I am just waiting for the guys to get back at around 0h00 and maybe we will go out.

I am really glad you stopped in Berlin. You made a good choice with the Sandemann FWT. They cover the essentials in a short amount of time. Can you see why I like Berlin so much??
