Who Let the Hookers Out?? (A day of Shopping with Mel)
Oh boy, where do I begin? Saturday morning I was a wee bit tired after driving all day and a late night with Kim. I finally got motivated enough to go grab lunch with Lisa (Lisabrook21) and hopped in the shower to go shopping with Melanie to find "the" outfit for the evening. Mel and I opted to go to what she terms "ghetto" mall since it's not one of the fancy tourist stops in Vegas. The first store we hit, she finds a cute dress but being a typical female, can't make up her mind so we continued on.
After several hours of seemingly stopping in every store, allowing her the pleasure of laughing incessantly at the dresses I tried on that well, always seem to be a little too small on top <wink> , we started winding down and figured we would just wear something we already had.
I wanted to look at shoes though before we left and we happened upon this interesting store called "House of Shoes". OMG - stilletos and crazy heels adorned the windows - I told Mel we needed to go try them on and take a few pics...just for TravBuddy purposes! LOL. Well, we spent considerable time trying boots on that no matter how big of a size I got, still only a chicken's leg could get them zipped over the calf (Mel couldn't either so it's not just my fat legs! LOL). Once we finished with the boots, we moved on to the actual stilletos which proved to be hilarious! We tried to take pics of the ones we were trying on but one of the sales clerks yelled at us that we couldn't take photos! Figures! But we managed to sneak a couple pics anyways! HA HA HA.While we are sitting there messing around, Melanie actually finds a pair of shoes that she likes and would consider wearing. I found several but they didn't have them in my size unfortunately (the flames being the main ones). Melanie found "blinkies" - yes, stilletos that light up when you walk! And conveniently, they ended up being 50% off and well, being the bad influence that I am....pretty much talked her into getting them. I finally settled on the b&w polka dots and we were off to go back and pick up that cute dress she saw earlier. I managed to find a b&w polka dot dress that matched my shoes perfectly!
Once we left the mall, we headed to get foooooood! Sushi - all you can eat sushi! Uh oh, pit stop! LOL.
We were driving down the street and saw the most interesting coffee shop - Sexpresso!!! Only in Las Vegas!!! We turned around and had to go take pics of it since they weren't open for us to get coffee at. We are not sure what makes it the sexiest coffee in Vegas but perhaps Melanie and I will find out before I leave this week!! HA HA HA.I took Melanie to a new place where my sushi chef, Hiro, had taken me once before. They had oysters on the half shell included in the price which is what sold me. I love oysters and trying to find them reasonably priced around here is nuts! Needless to say, I consumed almost 2 dozen oysters along with my fair share of seared albacore, super white tuna, and sashimi. Yummy for my tummy! This is quite the constrast from Sushi Mon all you can eat in that they don't have the 10,000 fancy rolls which is absolutely fine - I had one thing on my mind.
.oysters! LOL. I really thought about ordering another dozen or two but Melanie kept mentioning zinc overdose so I thought maybe I'd behave and stick with what I already ate. Plus, I already felt like I was going to explode and needed to get myself in that dress and heels for the night. Mooooooo!Hard to believe it's already 8pm by this time! We had to hurry back to Lisa's house to pick up some of my stuff and stop by the drug store for a few necessities and we were back to Mel's house to get ready. We had to hurry and get ready in order to get to the club before 11pm as we were meeting Prissy and her friends. YEAH!!!!
