Today was an interesting day....Mel and I were set to go check out some new venue options for the September meet up and then I scheduled to meet up with Kim and her friend Brad who was in town to watch the pianos at NY NY for awhile. As usual, things never go just according to plan! Mel and I were late getting out and only had time to stop by one place but it was worth it as we think we decided on this location for the main meet up dinner! Then I rushed to drop her back off, practically stopping long enough for her feet to hit the ground and I was off again. I was meeting Kim for dinner at Chin Chin at NY NY in only 30 minutes and if you understand Vegas and Strip traffic....good luck on me making it there!
I managed to get there only a couple minutes late but Kim had the munchies and ordered without me! Figures! LOL!! We had an excellent dinner although I didn't think I could find more expensive Chinese food than PF Changs.
We had plenty of time to make our table reservations at 8 for NY NY Dueling Pianos and Kim was texting Brad back and forth who was literally stuck in the middle of the House of Blues reception over at Mandalay Bay. I had also been texting back and forth with Chris from the night before who said they were packed in as well and no one was able to leave. The reception didn't end up being done until almost 9:30 and Chris and I decided I will just meet them over at Mandalay Bay when we were done. Kim and I are not sure what happened to Brad but he tried to make it over to NY NY and got stuck somewhere, got frustrated, and decided to call it a night.
Kim and I left NY NY pretty early and she was tired and dealing w/her shoulder pain and opted to head home.
Tonight we made new friends with Damon who runs a dealership up in Canada and OMG, what a hoot to hang out with. He was hilarious and despite what he thinks, rather smooth on the dance floor! He was pretty well trashed and wandered off to find his room at almost 3am since he had seminars starting at 7am! Eeek. We also met Matt from Virginia who was there for the convention and he was super nice.
Mel and I hung out AGAIN until the bar closed at 3am and then moved to the front bar with Matt, and Terry and his friend who we had met the night before that were visiting from England. Terry was pretty well trashed and was having quite a time sitting upright. Last I saw of him, he was hanging out on a roulette table losing his drinking money!
Can't believe it was 4am and we are just leaving Mandalay Bay again....I am not sure how I am still standing after almost 2 weeks of going out every single night. Although I am beyond exhausted, I am rather sad that Wednesday night is my last night and I have to head back home....to reality. :-( I will miss all my RL and TB friends.
