OMG..Not You AGAIN?!?! (Another day with Melanie - shopping & clubbing)
After getting quite a bit of work done, I was ready to go play with Melanie for the afternoon in anticipation of our big clubbing night at The Bank @ Bellagio! YEAH! We were meeting up with a friend of ours, Desiree, at the Yard House for lunch and a little travel networking who we had seen for a little bit the night before at Blue Martini. Desiree organizes several social groups through meetup.com and that is how I met her....not realizing at first how much we really all had in common. The Yard House is one of my favorite restaurants and this was my first time at the new one here in Vegas. Dang them for finally building one as I was already moving back to Cali! The Yard House features a great Happy Hour menu with select appetizers half off as well as many of their micrbrews! SWEET!
After a quick bite and my favorite Lost Coast Brewery - Downtown Brown, we were off to shop and get ready to head out dancing! Melanie of course had to stop at Yogurtland, her new favorite place (although they only feature one sugar free flavor so I am surprised she likes it.
..LOL). We then made a mad dash to several stores to finish up shopping and barely had enough time to get home and get ready to make it to the club by 11pm.We met up with Melanie's friend who was getting us in and headed over to try and find the "guest list" line. Yeah, didn't really exist. We had to kinda fight our way to the front where it seemed as though they were picking and choosing who they wanted to let in based on the slutiness of the females' outfits! Melanie finally got someone's attention to have them check for us on the list. In the meantime, we talked to two people who asked if there was any way Mel could include them on her list so we did (we had down for 10 people and only 3 of us actually ended up making it so we had plenty of spots left).
About 20 minutes go by and we are finally in the club which seems pretty cool. Drinks and we are off to the dance floor which was packed! I liked their VIP sections here since they are right on the dance floor so you have a good view of everything. We are talking about doing VIP service for the meet up in September which I think is the way to go.Nothing too crazy to report from our night out (shocking I know) - Melanie's friend Ryan came with us and we all hung out and danced, taking breaks to people watch periodically. It was Cory Feldman's Birthday celebration night so we heard him sing and I think I saw a glimpse of him at one point in the night.
We made some new friends from Los Angeles who hung out and were buying Ryan's drinks.
..although poor Ryan couldn't handle them as he was pretty trashed before we even got to the club. Being the good friend that I am, I took them off his hands and let the guys think he was finishing them. LOL. And no, they were not into Ryan....one of the guys was "in love" with Melanie and he thought Ryan was her brother so he was doing everything in his power to win the "respect" of Ryan. HA HA HA .We finally got out of there at almost 4am and decided to check out the Bellagio Conservatory which I LOVE and haven't seen the latest display. OMG- their 4th of July one was spectacular! I loved it and it was even better because it was practically deserted! We stopped and took a few pictures - they even had a replica of the Bellagio itself, complete with the fountain show! It was just amazing! Poor Ryan just wanted to go to sleep and here Melanie and I are keeping him there taking photos of us! HA HA.
We get back to the car and Melanie decides she has the munchies and we are going to stop at Roberto's Tacos (great place here in Vegas) for greasy nachos! Ryan is already passed out in the backseat, clutching a can of green tea for some reason! As we make our stop, Mel and I are laughing at poor Ryan who hasn't moved an inch in the car since we left Bellagio. Someone asks us what is so funny so we point to Ryan and several other people all kinda check him out passed out in the car!! LOL.Back to the house, we make a bed on the couch for Ryan and walk him into the house whereupon he falls right back to sleep. Melanie grabs our nachos and we head into the guest room where I am sleeping to do what of course......
.eat nachos and start blogging at 5:30am!! HA HA HA. I am trying to upload pics and falling fast asleep laying on the floor. Finally, I boot Melanie out at 6:30am so I can try to get 2 hours of sleep...I had to be back at Lisa's by 10:30am as we had an 11am appt to go try on bridesmaid dresses for her wedding next May!!! Eeeeeeeek.|

Yard House is known for its large menu, classic rock, and the largest selection of tap handles, between 100-250, depending on location.
The Yard House here in Vegas is widely popular like anything in Town Square it seems and and they do offer great happy hour specials which I don't remember the Long Beach one doing years ago!
Mon-Fri 3-6pm and Sun-Wed 11pm - 1am
Select half-priced appetizers
Domestic pints $3.25
Craft/Import pints $3.50
Goblets $4.00
Well drinks $4.25
House martinis $5.50
Wines by the glass $2.00/off
We arrived at 3:30 on Friday and it was busy but not packed. By 4pm, there were people already waiting for tables so I suggest you get there early if you want to take advantage of the happy hour pricing!
The three of us ordered several appetizers that were on the happy hour specials:
Spinach Cheese Dip - baked with feta, jack cheese, parmesan and cream cheese, served with crispy flat bread
Onion Ring Tower - beer battered with parmesan cheese, served with chipotle and ranch dipping sauces
Chicken Nachos - cheddar and jack cheese, tomato, cilantro, onions, guacamole, and spicy pinto beans
Hawaiian Poke Stack - marinated fresh ahi stacked with crispy wontons, carrots, bean sprouts, avocado and wasabi soy sauce
Grilled Jamaican Wings - tossed in jerk spices with rum bbq sauce
Our entire bill was only around $34 for appetizers and two drinks. If you like to try new beers, this is definitely the place to do it! My recommendation: Downtown Brown by Lost Coast Brewery. One of my favorites - usually try to keep that on tap at home! :-)
