Tjapukai

Great form!

Today was our last day of activities. We drove up a winding road through the rainforest. At the top of the mountain we boarded the Sky Rail. It was a gondola that went through the canopy and stopped off at two different places. It was beautiful accept that it was raining a little so our pictures didn’t come out that great. As we were riding along we could see lots of different types of trees. I even saw a koala sleeping in one. When we got to the bottom our fun came to a blinding halt because one of our students decided to do some shoplifting in the gift shop. Way to ruin our last day!

We had lunch at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Culture Park. Then we saw a couple of shows and were able to throw a boomerang and a spear. I was bad at the boomerang but pretty good at the spear.

Back at the hotel we changed into our dressy clothes for our last night. We went to the Cairns night market. I spent a lot of money on last minute souvenirs. Verna, Adam and I even had a Margarita. (We had been craving Mexican the whole trip). At the hotel we had a last night card playing party. Verna was a “hoot”. At 1am I went to take a power nap and ended up sleeping through my alarm. I woke up to Adam banging on my door telling me I had 20 minutes to pack and be on the bus. Ahhhhh!
