Verna flying high
The Full on day was a lot of fun. We were teamed up with a middle school delegation. The guides started by doing some dancing and ice breaking activities. Then they randomly assigned small groups. My group was the Frogs. Our guide's name was Troy. He was good with the students. I really liked how he gave them a task and then stood back and let them work it out for themselves. Some of the students really stepped up as leaders. I was really impressed with a few of them. Others hung back followed along, while others were completely bored and frustrated. It was really interesting to see the groups dynamic. It also set the tone for the kids who were going to make the most out of this trip and the ones who were going to be negative the whole time. Two things worth noteing about the Full On Day were the Big Mama Swing and the Flying Fox.
The Big Momma Swing was a large swing hoisted up in the trees. On a countdown one person pulls the rip cord and the pair goes swinging into the clouds. Jill was my partner. She has a fear of falling so you can imagine how hard it was for her to face her fear. I knew that she would regret it if she didn’t go so I had to use whatever means necessary to get her to the top of the tree. I pulled the cord and she kept her eyes closed the whole time. She even cried when it was over. I was proud that she actually did it. She also did the Flying Fox which is essentially a giant zip line. The difference is that you are strapped in on your back so you fly through the valley Superman style. Very fun!

That night Jill was on bed checks so Adam and I went out to a pub in Sydney to interact with the locals. Everyone was watching a boxing match and it was really crowded. We found a table outside and ordered a couple jugs. I enjoyed people watching. It is not all that different than the US. I was in my coat and scarf and some of the girls there were in very small dresses. One thing I found interesting was that they were medal detecting people as they walked into the pub.
