Journey Awaits

What is it about my travels and natural disasters right now?  Last November four days before leaving for my South America trip a major earthquake struck northern Chile.  Now yesterday (July 12), 6 days before leaving for Alaska, a volcano erupts in the state out in the Aleutian Islands.  Now granted both of these were 1000+ miles from my ultimate destinations in the country/state and thankfully were not/have not been major disasters.  But I would be careful about being in any location a few days prior to my arrival on my next trip.

Other than that, getting ready for departure on Friday afternoon.  Looking forward to the trip and the break after all the chaos that has been going on at work for the last month and a half.  Thankfully I will be pretty much incommunicado and cut off from the cell phone/e-mail the whole trip.
