Cannon Beach
July 25, 1998
We finally had reached the coast. After a couple hours of driving we were given our first look at the Pacific Ocean. We stopped at Cannon Beach and strolled the sands. Scores of people were on the sand and in the water. Despite it was well after the 4th of July, the water of the North Pacific was fridged! The air was a little crisp too. Still it didn't stop the masses enjoying the "nice" weather. I noticed many of the huge rock masses jutting from the water. They really are quite a sight. Reminds me of the pictures I've seen of Thailand, but colder! We grabbed a bite to eat at a seafood place there on the beach. It was pretty good and offered a great view of the water. Lots of fog lilted in the distance. We finished up and headed north.
